As part of the dual listed company ('DLC') structure, Investec plc and Investec 
Limited notify both the London Stock Exchange and the JSE Limited of matters 
which are required to be disclosed under the Disclosure, Transparency and 
Listing Rules of the United Kingdom Listing Authority (the 'UKLA') and/or 
the JSE Listing Requirements.

As at 30 July 2007, Investec plc's issued capital consists of 384,616,247 
ordinary shares of GBP0.0002 each 'the Ordinary Shares'. Of these 7,095,481
Ordinary Shares are held in treasury at the date of this announcement and
therefore the total number of voting rights in the Company is 377,520,766.

The figure of 377,520,766 Ordinary Shares may be used by shareholders as the 
denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are 
required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Investec 
plc under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
