                        Annual Report and Accounts 2006
                      and Notice of Annual General Meeting

Island Oil & Gas plc (LSE:IOG), the exploration and production company,
announces that the Annual Report and Accounts for the year ended 31 July 2006
(the 'Report') was posted to Shareholders today (Tuesday 12 December 2006). A
Notice of the Annual General Meeting ('AGM') was included within the Report.

The AGM will be held at 11.00am at 'Fire' at The Mansion House, Dawson Street,
Dublin 2, Ireland on Friday 19 January 2006.

Copies of the Annual Report and Accounts and the Notice of AGM will be
available, free of charge, from the Company's registered office at: 27
