iomart wins quarter million pound Newsquest contract
iomart announced today that they have won a 3-year contract worth £250,000 to
provide a fully-managed dedicated web-hosting service on behalf of s1now Ltd,
part of the Newsquest Media Group, the UK's second largest publisher of regional
and local newspapers.
iomart will provide the hosting architecture, infrastructure and ongoing
management for s1jobs.com, s1homes.com and s1play.com as well as the online
newspapers for The Herald, Sunday Herald and Evening Times.
Angus MacSween, CEO of iomart commented: 'We are delighted to have won this
prestigious contract from one of Scotland's leading online businesses and we
look forward to repaying the trust they have put in us by helping s1 to enhance
and improve their services over the next three years'.

choosing the company that would be responsible for the performance and integrity
of our websites was a key business decision for us. Several of the big UK
hosting companies were in the frame but in the end it came down to iomart's
commitment to reliability, flexibility and value'.

1. s1now Ltd was established in June 2000 as the online division of SMG
plc and has established leading online brands such as s1jobs.com,
s1homes.com and s1play.com.
2. s1 was sold to Newsquest, part of Gannet, the leading US publisher in
April this year along with SMG's publishing division which includes The
Herald, Sunday Herald and Evening Times newspapers.
3. The s1 websites receive 2 million hits a month generating 16 million
page impressions.
4. s1jobs receives 2,000 job applications daily.
