iomart Group plc and Sendmail Inc. announce strategic
partnership focusing on business e-mail applications
iomart, the integrated internet services company and
Sendmail Inc., today announces the provision of a major
email ASP platform enabling Iomart to attack the fast
growing enterprise mail outsourcing market. The iomart
email hosting platform will debut Sendmail's versatile
Large Scale Hosting Solution in Europe.
As email becomes increasingly mission-critical, demanding
24 x 7 availability, security and support, it is
impractical for companies to manage complex email
services internally. Iomart's mail service solution
enables companies to outsource their email services on a
cost-effective and securely-managed basis.
Angus Macsween, Chief Executive of iomart Group plc said:
'iomart and Sendmail are delivering a world class email
solution for business customers at a time when the
Internet's all pervasive importance is being underlined
on a daily basis. Email is the lifeblood of the Internet,
and iomart and Sendmail are working closely to give
business users cutting edge email services,'
Key additional features of the platform include anti-
virus protection to intercept viruses before they reach
the customer, Webmail, and secure document management. A
revolutionary capability of the platform is e-billing,
which enables companies to bill customers online, whilst
providing unique upselling and referral opportunities.
Greg Olson, President and CEO at Sendmail added:
'iomart is providing an invaluable service to literally
millions of users as e-business continues to grow in the
UK, and we are very happy to be able to offer the right
hosting solution to support this huge demand. The
partnership will further strengthen iomart's
comprehensive offering, providing users with a first
class service which is reliable, secure and highly
scalable.'
