                               Additional Listing


Application has today been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock
Exchange for a total of 600,000 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company
('Ordinary Shares') to be admitted to the Official List and to trading on the
London Stock Exchange's main market. 300,000 of these Ordinary Shares are being
issued to the IQE plc Employee Benefit Trusts and 300,000 of these Ordinary
Shares are being issued to the IQE plc General Employee Benefit Trust.


Admission of all the Ordinary Shares is expected to become effective on 11 March
2003.
