AGM Statement

John Lewis of Hungerford Plc (AIM: JLH), the specialist manufacturer and retailer of kitchens, bedrooms and freestanding furniture, will hold its Annual General Meeting at 2pm today at the Mercure London Paddington, 144 Praed Street, Paddington, London W2 1HU.

The Chairman of the Meeting will provide the following trading update:

Our despatched sales and forward orders (which we normally consider to be the best measure of current trading) for the current financial year stands at £4.2m (2019: £5.1m). Orders against which a first stage deposit has been taken, and for which there is a strong conversion into future sales, stood at £1.6m (2019: £1.3m).

As previously announced, the Company is taking a cautious approach to trading with a focus on maximising conversions whilst continuing to reduce costs within the business. Overall design quotation activity within the business has considerably improved compared with this time last year and the Company expects to see conversions improve as we move forwards in 2020.

The AGM will be followed by a brief shareholder presentation. No new material information will be disclosed and a copy of the presentation will be made available on the Company's website www.john-lewis.co.uk.
