             Completion of Sale of Pigments & Dispersions Business


Johnson Matthey announces that it has today completed the sale of its Pigments &
Dispersions business to Rockwood Pigments (UK) Limited, a subsidiary of Rockwood
Specialties Group, Inc.



This completes the transaction which was first announced on 23rd July 2004.
