LAUNCH OF THE COMPANY

The Board of Bear Stearns Private Equity Limited (the 'Company') announces that
pursuant to the Placing the following numbers of Shares have been issued:
33,069,458 Equity Shares at USD 1.05 each and 33,148,465 Zero Dividend
Preference Shares at 42.5 pence each, including those Shares issued in the form
of Packaged Units, each consisting of one Equity Share and one Zero Dividend
Preference Share.

The Shares have been admitted to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority.
The Shares and the Packaged Units have been admitted to trading on the London
Stock Exchange.

An announcement will be made shortly with regards to the percentage of the
Company's assets to be represented by the initial Transfer Portfolio.

Terms defined in the Listing Particulars dated 21 June 2005 bear the same
meanings when used in this announcement.
