                       LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT



JPMorgan Chinese Investment Trust plc ('the Company') announces that an
application has been made to the London Stock Exchange for a block listing of
2,200,000 ordinary shares of 25p each. The shares will rank pari passu with the
Company's existing ordinary shares of 25p each and will be allotted to members
of the JPMorgan Share Plan, ISA, Pension Account holders and to other regular
investors. The expected allocation of the 2,200,000 shares in respect of the
block listing is as follows:



200,000 shares for JPMorgan Share Plan

2,000,000 shares to be allocated to other investors.
