THE FLEMING CHINESE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC
INTERIM RESULTS FOR THE SIX MONTHS TO 31 MARCH 2001
The Board of The Fleming Chinese Investment Trust plc have today announced the
unaudited interim results for the six months to 31 March 2001.
Over the period the net asset value fell by 13.4% to 72.4p (83.67p - 30
September 2000), as the markets of the Greater China region were affected
adversely by uncertainties over the future direction of the US economy and a
global sell off in technology, media and telecom stocks. Since the end of
March there have been some positive signs and the Investment Manager expects
the investment climate to improve over the balance of the year.
As in the previous year, no interim dividend will be paid.
