London, 7th September, 2000
The Fleming Emerging Markets Investment Trust plc
today announced its results for the year ended
30th June, 2000.
The net asset value per share increased by 28.6%
over the year compared to an increase in the
benchmark index, the MSCI Emerging Markets Free

As the Company continues to focus on capital gain
rather than income , there is a modest revenue
loss. No dividend is payable.
Commenting on the results, the Chairman, Roger
Murray said;
'I am pleased to report an extremely satisfactory
performance this year. In addition to a strong
outperformance of the benchmark index, the share
price has benefited from the narrowing of our
discount so that the share price return was 32.6%

We have a good team and a proven strategy in place
and look forward to future growth'
