VOTING RIGHTS AND CAPITAL

JPMORGAN EUROPEAN SMALLER COMPANIES TRUST PLC

('The Company')

In conformity with the Transparency Directive we would like to notify the market of the following:

As at 31 July 2014 the Company's share capital consists of 160,147,885 Ordinary 5 pence shares carrying one vote each.  The Company does not hold any shares in Treasury.

Therefore as at 31 July 2014, the total number of voting rights for Ordinary shareholders in JPMorgan European Smaller Companies Trust plc is 160,147,885.

The above figure (160,147,885) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to, their interest in the Company under the FCA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
