RESIGNATION OF DIRECTOR

The Board of JPMorgan Global Emerging Markets Income Trust plc announces the resignation of Mr Pablo Forero as a non executive director with effect from 1^st August 2011.  Mr Forero has decided to step down due to a change in personal circumstances.  The Directors are grateful for his valuable contribution during his time on the Board.

No further information is to be disclosed in respect of paragraph 9.6.11(2) of the Financial Services Authority's Listing Rules for Mr Forero.
