LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT

JPMORGAN GLOBAL EMERGING MARKETS INCOME TRUST PLC

TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF NEW ISSUES

As set out in the Prospectus dated 29 June 2010, JPMorgan Global Emerging Markets Income Trust plc ('the Company') announces that the Court hearing to sanction the reduction of its share premium account is scheduled for Wednesday 20 October 2010.  Assuming the Court sanctions the reduction, an amount equal to the cancelled share premium will be credited as a distributable reserve of the Company, which may be applied in any manner in which the Company's profits available for distribution (as determined in accordance with the Companies Act 2006) are able to be applied.

In light of the pending Court hearing to approve the share premium reduction and the associated filings, the Company announces that it will not issue any further new Ordinary shares before Thursday 21 October 2010.
