JPMORGAN JAPAN SMALLER COMPANIES TRUST PLC

CONVERSION OF SUBSCRIPTION SHARES

JPMorgan Japan Smaller Companies Trust plc announces that today it issued 552,197 Ordinary shares following the exercise of conversion rights by seventeen uncertificated Subscription shareholders.

Application has been made for the Ordinary shares to be admitted to the premium segment of the Official List and to trading on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. It is expected that dealings in the new Ordinary shares will commence at 8.00a.m. on 7^th May 2015.

Subject to the listing application, the Company's issued share capital will comprise 47,248,605 Ordinary shares, including 409,500 held in Treasury, and 8,695,955 Subscription shares.
