CHANGE IN DIRECTORATE
Appointment
The Board of JPMorgan Japan Smaller Companies Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Yuuichiro Nakajima as a non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 1st April 2014.
Mr Nakajima founded Crimson Phoenix K.K. in Japan in 2003 and subsequently established Crimson Phoenix Limited in London in 2012. Crimson Phoenix is a specialist cross-border advisory firm, providing advice on Japan-related M&A transactions, private equity investments and a range of corporate strategy initiatives from its offices in the United Kingdom and Japan.
Mr Nakajima was a member of the Executive Board of the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan until 2012.
He is involved with the Asian Football Confederation and Japan Football Association. In addition, he was Executive Director of the 2018/2000 FIFA World Cup Japan Host Nation Bidding Committee in 2010.
Mr Nakajima spent ten years with S.G.Warburg (later SBC Warburg) and four years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, among other affiliations.
Mr Nakajima does not currently hold any shares in the Company.
No information is to be disclosed in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13 (2) - (6) of the UKLA Listing Rules for Mr Nakajima.
