JPMORGAN JAPAN SMALLER COMPANIES TRUST PLC

REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES INTO TREASURY

On Friday 7^th September 2012, JPMorgan Japan Smaller Companies Trust plc purchased into Treasury 50,000 ordinary shares at 137.25 pence per share.

Following the transaction the remaining shares in issue total 39,489,818 including 260,500 shares held in treasury.
