JPMORGAN JAPANESE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

AGM STATEMENT

Following the Annual General Meeting of the Company which was held today, 18th December 2008, the Board is pleased to announce that all the resolutions put to shareholders were passed, including the following items of Special Business which:

1. Will allow the Company to allot new shares up to an aggregate nominal amount of £21,421, representing approximately 5% of the issued ordinary share capital as at the date of the passing of this resolution;

2. Will allow the Company to disapply pre-emption rights on allotment of relevant securities;

3. Will allow the Company to make market purchases of up to 25,688,552 ordinary shares representing 14.99% of the Company's issued share capital for each share class;

4. Will allow the Company to adopt new Articles of Association.
