CHANGE IN DIRECTORATE

Appointment

The Board of JPMorgan Japanese Investment Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Sir Stephen Gomersall, KCMG as a non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 1^st July 2013.

Sir Stephen is a Director of Hitachi Ltd and holds a number of directorships of Hitachi Group companies in the UK.

He entered the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in 1970 and held a number of appointments overseas including being Ambassador to Japan from 1999 to 2004.  He has spent more than 14 years living and working in Japan.

Sir Stephen holds 3,049 shares in the Company.

No further information is to be disclosed in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13 (2) - (6) of the UKLA Listing Rules for Sir Stephen.
