                 REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES FOR CANCELLATION





JPMorgan Japanese Investment Trust plc today purchased 250,000 ordinary shares
for cancellation at 203.48 pence per share.

Following the transaction the remaining shares in issue total 179,213,919.
