The Company announces that Sir Laurence Magnus, the Chairman of the Company, will be appointed as a non-executive director of City of London Investment Trust plc with effect from 1^st March 2020. It is expected that Sir Laurence Magnus will become the Chairman of City of London Investment Trust plc following the retirement of the current Chairman at its Annual General Meeting in October 2020.

Sir Laurence Magnus will retire as a non-executive director of Fidelity Japan Trust plc in May 2020.
