APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR
JUDGES CAPITAL APPOINTS RALPH COHEN AS FINANCE DIRECTOR
The Directors of Judges Capital are pleased to announce that Ralph Cohen FCA has
been appointed to the Board as Finance Director and Company Secretary with
effect from today.
Prior to the formation of MC Consultancy Services in 2001, Mr Cohen, 57, held
various senior executive positions within the Vivendi Universal group. He was
Managing Director, having formerly held the post of Finance Director, of
Associated Heat Services (1981-91) while also acting as Finance Director of
Veolia Water UK PLC, formed in 1987 to acquire shareholdings in UK water
companies. Mr Cohen was subsequently appointed Managing Director of Associated
Electricity Supplies in which Vivendi and Electricite de France held interests
of 75% and 25% respectively.
Before this, Mr Cohen, a Chartered Accountant, spent nine years (1972-81) at
Ernst & Young, principally in the London office, having previously worked as an
accountant at Monsanto Chemicals Ltd.
Projects that Mr Cohen has been closely associated with at MC Consultancy
Services include electricity supply opportunities in Europe, clean-coal
technology and specific aspects of M&A.
Alex Hambro, Chairman of Judges Capital, commented: 'We are delighted that an
executive of the calibre of Ralph Cohen has agreed to join the Board as Finance
Director. Mr Cohen brings a wealth of corporate experience to Judges Capital
which will prove invaluable as the Company continues to grow organically and
through further acquisitions.'
Ralph Elman, previously part-time Finance Director and Company Secretary, has
agreed to remain on the Board as a Non-Executive Director. Mr Elman will join
the Remuneration Committee and will become Chairman of the Audit Committee.
The Company also announces that it has adopted an unapproved share option scheme
and has granted 37,000 options to Ralph Cohen and 5,000 options to David
Barnbrook, Managing Director of Fire Testing Technology, Judges Capital's main
trading subsidiary. The options are exercisable at any time between the third
and tenth anniversaries from the date of grant at a price of 101.5p per share.
Notes:
• Ralph Leslie Cohen is 57 years old and is a Partner of MC Consultancy
Services. During the last five years he has been but no longer is a
Director of Associated Electricity Supplies Limited and Micropower Limited.
No other information needs to be disclosed under the AIM rules.
