                            Appointment of Chairman



The directors of K3 Business Technology Group plc ('K3'), which provides supply
chain management and enterprise resource planning solutions, are pleased to
announce the appointment of George Matthews as non-executive chairman.  The
appointment takes immediate effect and accordingly, Johan Claesson has stepped
down as chairman to become a non-executive director.


George Matthews, aged 46, has over 20 years experience within the IT sector.
Until his retirement in September 2001, he was chief executive officer of
Sherwood International plc ('Sherwood'), a position he assumed in 1992.
Sherwood is a leading supplier of technology solutions to the global insurance
marketplace.



As chief executive officer of Sherwood, he was responsible for re-focusing and
restructuring the then loss-making group and subsequently expanding its
activities outside the UK, notably developing Sherwood's presence within North
America.  The company is now recognised as one of the top providers of
technology-based solutions to the life, pensions and insurance industries
globally.



Prior to his appointment as chief executive officer, he was client services
director of Sherwood and had previously held directorships of various Sherwood
subsidiaries.  He joined Sherwood in 1981.



George Matthews is also a non-executive director of MMT Computing plc.



There are no further disclosures to be made regarding this appointment in
accordance with Schedule 2 rule (f) of the AIM Rules.
