Kenmare Resources PLC 09 September 2002 Kenmare Resources plc ('Kenmare' or 'the Company') Announcement Kenmare Issues Tender to Build Moma Titanium Project Kenmare Resources plc. is pleased to announce that it has issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the construction and implementation of the Moma Titanium Minerals Project in Mozambique. The ITB has been issued to a short list of international contractors who have the experience and capability to deliver the Moma Titanium Minerals mine and processing facility. Following adjudication of the various bids, Kenmare expects to move to final contract with the successful bidder shortly thereafter. The contract will include all aspects of final engineering and implementation of the project. The tender documentation envisages a 24 month period from contract signing to completion of project commissioning and hand over to the Moma Project operations team. The tender documentation was prepared by Kvaerner, a global engineering and construction group, who are acting as client representative for Kenmare on the project. Charles Carvill, Kenmare's Chairman said: 'The issue of the Moma ITB is another important advance for the Moma Project. The selection of an experienced project contractor who will build the mine, together with the ongoing financing and marketing negotiations, represent key activities for Kenmare at present.'
