Kingfisher plc ('the Company') was informed on 27th February 2003 of the
following movements in ordinary shares of the Company held by HSBC Bank plc and
its holding company, HSBC Holdings plc.
On 20th February 2003, HSBC Bank plc was interested in 78,885,539 ordinary
shares of Kingfisher plc, representing 3.01% of the company's issued share
