Re: Appointment of Mr M Chande as a Director of Land Securities PLC

Following the above appointment which became effective on 29 November 2000, I am
writing with reference to the information required by the Company Announcements
Office concerning Mr Chande.

With effect from the date of his appointment, Mr Chande acquired a
non-beneficial interest in 680,000 Ordinary shares in Land Securities PLC held
by Mychand Limited. Mr Chande owns a 50% interest in Mychand Limited.

On 8 December 2000, the Company was informed that Mychand Holdings Limited, in
which Mr Chande has a 50% interest, acquired 320,000 shares in Land Securities
PLC on 7 December 2000 at an average price of £8.275 per share taking Mr
Chande's non-beneficial interests in the shares of Land Securities PLC to 1
million shares. In addition, on 8 December 2000, Mr Chande purchased 1,000
shares in Land Securities PLC in his own name at a price of £8.27 per share.

With regard to the information required under Paragraph 16.4(a) of the Listing
Rules, I can confirm that Mr Chande has not held any other directorships of
publicly quoted companies in the last five years.

With regard to the details required by Paragraph 6.F.2(b) to (g) of the Listing
Rules, I can confirm that there are no such details to be disclosed.
