The figure of 3.48% announced on 27 April 2007 related to voting rights directly
controlled by AXA S.A. and did not take account of voting rights held
indirectly.



In accordance with the provisions of Section 5.8.12 of the Disclosure and
Transparency Rules, Legal & General Group Plc ('the Group') has been advised
that, as at 26 April 2007, AXA S.A. and its group companies had a notifiable
interest in 320,166,263 ordinary shares of 2.5p, with voting rights, of the
Group, which represented 4.90% of the voting rights.
