APPOINTMENT OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Life Science REIT (AIM: LABS), the real estate investment trust focused on UK life science properties, is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Howell as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from today, 3 May 2022. As part of a planned succession process, the Board anticipates that Richard will replace Dr Sally Ann Forsyth OBE in the role of Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee (the "Committee") following his initial induction process and a subsequent RNS announcement will be made on his appointment as Chair of the Committee. In respect to the future rotation of Chair of the Committee, Sally Ann has today been appointed as Sustainability Lead for the Company.
Richard is Chief Financial Officer of Primary Health Properties plc, the FTSE-250 REIT and leading investor in flexible, modern primary healthcare accommodation across the UK and Ireland. He has over 25 years of commercial property experience within the listed property sector and previously held the role of Finance Director - Joint Ventures at LondonMetric Property plc until March 2017. Richard is a qualified accountant with relevant financial experience.

Life Science REIT plc is a property business focused solely on the UK's growing life science sector, specifically targeting opportunities in the "Golden Triangle" research and development hubs of Oxford, Cambridge and London St Pancras. The Company's intention is to become the property provider of choice for life science companies in the UK, whilst enabling shareholders to gain exposure to a specific growth sector.
The objective of the Company's investment policy is focused on capital growth, whilst also providing a growing level of income, by investing primarily in a diversified portfolio of properties that are leased, or intended to be leased, to occupiers operating in the life science sector in the UK.
Life Science REIT joined the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange on 19 November 2021, having raised £350 million in its IPO. Its shares trade under the ticker LABS.
