STOCK EXCHANGE NOTICE
CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR TRADING DAYS 2000/2001
1. This Notice sets out the business days for the London Stock Exchange over
the Christmas and New Year period:
Friday 22 December 2000 Markets close at 12:30 (see below)
Monday 25 December 2000 Closed all day
Tuesday 26 December 2000 Closed all day
Wednesday 27 December 2000 Normal business day
Thursday 28 December 2000 Normal business day
Friday 29 December 2000 Markets close at 12:30 (see below)
Monday 1 January 2001 Closed all day
Tuesday 2 January 2001 Normal business day
2. Member firms are reminded of the change to the timing of the closing
auction call period for SETS securities, as set out in N24/00. On 22 and
29 December 2000, the close for all markets will be 12:30, with the
exception of SETS securities for which closing prices will be disseminated
shortly after the auction match at 12:35.
3. A Notice will be issued shortly giving further details of trading days over
this period, including market hours and trade reporting deadlines.
