RULE 2.10 ANNOUNCEMENT

London Stock Exchange plc announces, in accordance with Rule 2.10 of the City
Code on Takeovers and Mergers, that subsequent to an issue of  79,660 ordinary
shares under the London Stock Exchange Share Scheme, its issued share capital as
at 17 February 2006 comprises 255,076,820 ordinary shares of 55/6pence each.
