A previous notification on 8th March 2017, stated Bill Holmes will retire from the board upon completion of a successful handover of the position of chair of the audit & risk committee.  We announced on 29th June 2017 that Stuart Counsell had been appointed a non-executive director of the company and chair of the audit & risk committee.  A successful handover having been achieved, Bill Holmes retired from his position as non-executive director on 28th March 2018.

Phil White, Chairman of Lookers, commented: "I would like to thank Bill for his exceptional and substantial contribution to the company since joining the board in June 2008, serving as a non-executive director, chairman of the audit & risk committee and the senior independent director in this period.  I wish him well for the future."
