E D & F Man Group plc (the 'Company') announces that John Kinder, Chairman of
the Sugar division, is resigning from the Board of Directors of the Company
with effect from 31 August 1999. Rafael Muguiro, the current Managing Director
of Sugar, has been appointed to the Board with effect from 31 August 1999, as
an executive Director with responsibility for the Group's Sugar activities.

Additional Information:
Prior to joining the Man Group Rafael Muguiro was a director of Compania de
Filipinas SA and of Tabacalera SA until January 1997.
There are no details to be disclosed under paragraph 6.F.2(b) to (g) of the
London Sock Exchange Listing Rules.
