Additional Information:
Mr Lavooij holds awards for 175,736 shares under the Group's Performance Share
Plan, subject to certain performance criteria set out in the Plan Rules.

Furthermore, on 3rd September 1999, the security interest of the E D & F Man
Group 1990 Employee Trust (the 'Employee Trust') was reduced by 55,330
ordinary shares (for nil consideration).  The Employee Trust now has a
security interest over 4,306,552 ordinary shares.  Executive Directors of the
company are deemed to be interested in the 5,025,921 shares held by the
Employee Trust and the 4,306,552 shares over which the Employee Trust holds a
security interest.
