                           Purchase of Own Securities

Man Group plc announces that on 27 April 2007 it purchased for cancellation
34,000 of its ordinary shares at a price of 554.86 pence per ordinary share.

Since the start of the financial year on 1 April 2007, Man has repurchased
364,000 ordinary shares at a total cost of £2.0 million, giving an average
repurchase cost of 553.95 pence per ordinary share.
