                           Purchase of Own Securities

Man Group plc announces that on 18 July 2007 it purchased for cancellation
452,751 of its ordinary shares at a price of 598.23 pence per ordinary share.

Since the start of the financial year on 1 April 2007, Man has repurchased
13,110,018 ordinary shares at a total cost of £77.1 million, giving an average
repurchase cost of 588.36 pence per ordinary share.
