                           Purchase of Own Securities


Man Group plc announces that on 19 July 2006 it purchased for cancellation
100,000 of its ordinary shares at a price of 2343.91 pence per ordinary share.


Since the start of the financial year on 1 April 2006, Man has repurchased
2,600,000 ordinary shares at a total cost of £61.2 million, giving an average
repurchase cost of £23.54 per ordinary share.
