NOTIFICATION OF TRANSACTIONS OF DIRECTORS/PERSONS DISCHARGING MANAGERIAL

Further to an announcement issued by Marks and Spencer Group plc (the 'Company')
on 9 January 2008 in respect of the purchase of ordinary shares of 25p each in
the Company by Steven Esom and Carl Leaver, the following updates have been
received:
Steven Esom
24,360 shares purchased at a price of 410.50p per share. The registered holder
for these shares is T.D Waterhouse Nominees (Europe) Limited. His total
shareholding following this transaction is 24,360.
Carl Leaver
17,954 shares purchased: 14,567 at a price of 409.75p, 1,692 shares at a price
of 410.94p and 1,695 shares at a price of 410.22p per share. The registered
holder for these shares is HSDL Nominees Limited, 16,259 shares are held on
behalf of Carl and 1,692 shares on behalf of his wife, Tara. The total
shareholding following these transactions is 17,954.
