DECLARES QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, November 18, 1999 -- The board of directors of Marsh &
McLennan Companies, Inc. (MMC) today declared a quarterly dividend of $.45 per
share on outstanding common stock, payable on February 14, 2000, to
shareholders of record on January 10, 2000.
