MARSH & McLENNAN COMPANIES SELLS MINORITY STAKE
IN SEDGWICK CLAIMS MANAGEMENT SERVICES
MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE, November 1, 1999 - Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC)
announced today that it has sold a minority share of its subsidiary Sedgwick
Claims Management Services, Inc. (Sedgwick CMS) to Trident II, L.P., a private
equity partnership.
Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc. is a claims administration firm
providing casualty, disability and managed care services. Clients are
serviced by more than 1,400 colleagues in 81 offices nationwide. Its Web site

Trident II, L.P. is a limited partnership with capital commitments in excess
of $1.25 billion, sponsored by Marsh & McLennan Capital, Inc. It was
established to make private equity and equity-related investments in the
global insurance, reinsurance and related industries.
