AGM Statement

Martin Currie Portfolio Investment Trust plc
                    Stock Exchange Announcement - 18 May 2007


At  the  Annual General Meeting of Martin Currie Portfolio Investment Trust  plc
held  on  18 May 2007, all resolutions were duly passed. The final dividend  for
the  year  will be 1.9p per ordinary share and will be paid on 8  June  2007  to
shareholders on the register on 18 May 2007.


The special resolutions which were passed at the Annual General Meeting have
been lodged with the UK Listing Authority. These will be available shortly
through the UK Listing Authority's Document Viewing Facility, which can be found
at The Financial Services Authority, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf,
