For the purposes of the Financial Services Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, the total number of ordinary shares of Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust plc in issue as at the date and time of this notice is 103,379,548 with each share carrying the right to one vote. In addition there are 1,113,623 shares held in Treasury.

The above figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company in accordance with the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
