    Notification of Interest in Shares under Section 198 Companies Act 1985


McBride PLC was today notified, that following a purchase by Allianz
Lebensvericherungs AG ('Allianz Leben') of 1,515,000 ordinary shares on 23 June
2006, Allianz AG and subsidiaries together with Allianz Leben are interested in
15,628,345 shares in the Company representing 8.85% of its ordinary share
capital.


Allianz AG is the ultimate holding company of Allianz Leben. Allianz Leben is a
direct subsidiary of Jota Vermogensverwaltungs GmbH ('Jota') , which is itself a
direct subsidiary of Allianz AG. As a result of s203(2) of the Act. Jota and
Allianz AG are interested in the ordinary shares in which Allianz Leben are
interested.
