MEDIA CONTENT APPOINTED AS ADVISOR TO WORLD'S FIRST 'LIVE
TO AIRPLANE' TELEVISION NETWORK AND INTERNET SERVICE
Media Content PLC announces today the appointment of
Media Content Sports Media Advisors Ltd (its wholly-owned
subsidiary) to AirTV a Washington DC based company
founded in 1995 to develop a worldwide global satellite
television to deliver live, multi-channel television to
airborne passenger aircraft. The industrial team
participating in AirTV's development to date includes
Alcatel, Marconi Canada and Aerospatiale Matra.
Media Content will advise on its sports programming
strategy and manage the acquisition of live sports
content from the world's leading federations,
rightsholders and broadcasters.
The Board of Media Content are excited to be working on
the AirTV, project. The global audience for 'live to
airplane' television and internet services is forecast to
grow to 150 million per annum over the next few years.
AirTV plans to launch its worldwide service by 2002,
transmitted via its dedicated satellite system.
