Distribution deal agreed for US women's soccer programming
Media Content plc and and its New York City-based partner, Summit Properties
International (SPI), have been appointed exclusive distributors, in select
European, Asian, Latin American and African territories, for WUSA, the Women's
United Soccer Association, headquartered in Atlanta, USA.
The deal gives Media Content and SPI broadcast, cable and satellite distribution
rights to 22 key WUSA matches and ancilliary programming, with an option to
obtain match rights for all 80 games.
WUSA is the world's premier women's professional soccer league. In its inaugural
season, the eight-team league featured the best players from the USA World Cup
Championship Team and top-flight international players.
