The  Board  of The Fleming Mercantile Investment Trust plc announces
that  at  the Annual General Meeting of the Company held  yesterday,
general  authority  was  given for the Company  to  purchase  up  to
20,573,589  of its own ordinary shares for cancellation  within  the
restrictions set out in the resolution put to shareholders.
