In conformity with the Transparency Directive, the Company would like to notify the market of the following:

As at 31^st July 2018, the Company's issued share capital consists of 944,492,180 Ordinary 25 pence shares with voting rights. The Company holds 145,381,081 Ordinary shares in Treasury.

Therefore, as at 31^st July 2018, the total number of voting rights in The Mercantile Investment Trust plc is 799,111,099.

The above figure (799,111,099) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, The Mercantile Investment Trust plc under the FCA's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
