Please note that the Company repurchased 150,000 shares at 786.81 pence per share and not 784.81 pence per share as previously stated.

REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES FOR CANCELLATION

The Mercantile Investment Trust plc has today purchased 150,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at 786.81 pence per share.

Following the transaction the remaining shares in issue total 102,716,765.
