                     Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Metals Exploration Plc is pleased to announce the appointment on 1 May 2007 of
Jonathan Michael Kuvey Pearson, aged 57, as a Non-Executive Director of the
Company.



Jonathan has 40 years experience in banking.  He has run a number of treasury
and securities trading businesses in his career, and spent four and a half years
based in Singapore in the mid 1980s with Standard Chartered Bank, latterly as
CEO of Standard Chartered Merchant Bank Asia.



His most recent appointment, between 1998 and 31 December 2005, was at Standard
Bank Plc where he was responsible for the Bank's activities in Europe, the
Middle East and Central Asia.  He chaired the Bank's Assets and Liabilities
Committee and sat on its Executive and Credit Committees.  In this latter
capacity he had significant exposure to the Standard Bank's mining finance and
precious metals trading and hedging activities.



Jonathan is currently a director with Melli Bank Plc. In the last five years has
held directorships at Standard Bank Plc and Sabanci Bank Limited.

There are no other requirements of Schedule 2 paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules
