MITIE GROUP PLC ('MITIE')
David Telling
It is with deep sadness that MITIE Group PLC announces the death of its former
Chairman David Telling on Friday 31 October 2003, after a long period of
illness. David was the inspirational founder and leader of MITIE.
The unique equity model which he created provides opportunities for people to
invest capital as a minority shareholder in start-up companies which has led to
many ultimately acquiring wealth far beyond their wildest dreams. He was
selfless in his attitude towards the sharing of equity. MITIE is now a major
player in the support services sector.
Prior to setting up MITIE, David was Chairman and Chief Executive of the HAT
Group between 1976 and 1986, he was also former Chairman of Tribal Group plc and
Empresaria Group plc.
