                            Appointment of Director

MITIE announces that it has today appointed Cullum McAlpine as a Non-Executive
Director of the Company.

Mr McAlpine, 56, is a director of Sir Robert McAlpine Limited.

Mr McAlpine holds no directorships in any other publicly quoted companies and
has not done so in the last 5 years.  He has no interests in MITIE shares and
there are no details required to be disclosed under paragraph 6.F.2 (b) to (g)
of the UK Listing Authority Listing Rules in connection with Mr McAlpine's
appointment.
